Kennedy McGowan - President
Kennedy McGowan was instrumental in revitalizing the sport of volleyball in 1990 and served in numerous positions on the CIVF Board until 2000 when he retired as President. He returned in 2009 to assist the local organizing committee with hosting of the first NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball tournament to be held in the Cayman Islands. The following year he was asked to rejoin the CIVF Board, elected Vice President and served in that role for four years. In 2014 he was again elected CIVF President. Kennedy has a passion for making volleyball a focus sport in Cayman. He might also be seen occasionally playing in the Sunday Beach Volleyball League or refereeing a church league game.
Troy Alleyne - Vice President
Troy Alleyne has been playing and coaching volleyball for 30 years. The latter 15 years has been spent supporting the volleyball community here in Cayman. He is currently the Director of the volleyball ministry at the First Baptist Church in Grand Cayman.
Kevin Solomon - Treasurer
Kevin has been involved in the volleyball scene in the Cayman Islands for over 25 years. He was a member of the National Indoor Volleyball Team and represented the Cayman Islands at the Island Games on more than one occasions, and he also played in the Caribbean Championships hosted by Barbados in 1999. Since retiring from his national career Kevin went on to seek coach certification from FIVB, and he now trains the next generation of national players for Cayman.
Cindy Joe - Secretary
Cindy hails from Nova Scotia, Canada, where she played volleyball for Cobequid Education Centre and Saint Mary's University. She came back to Cayman in 2015 and she currently works with the Maples Group. She returned to volleyball after 16 years to play with her two daughters, and to utilize her off the court skills to try and help the growth of volleyball in the Cayman Islands.
Javid Ali - Technical Director
Javid has been an integral part of volleyball in the Cayman Islands for many years. He started as a National Indoor player and has represented the Cayman Islands in numerous international events. He began assisting CIVF in other aspects of the sport such as refereeing, scoring, and assisting with coaching. Since then, he has become a Level II FIVB Coach, he currently oversees the Youth Development Coaches, and coaches the National Beach Program as well as the Knights Volleyball Club. He is also one of the founders and President of the Knights Volleyball Club.
Heather Thompson - Public Relations Officer
Heather has been involved in the volleyball scene in the Cayman Islands since her arrival in 2015. She has represented Cayman at Island Games in 2017 for Beach Volleyball, and continues to compete in the local recreational indoor and beach tournaments. As her love for the game continuously grows, so does her involvement in the federation. She went from playing to scorekeeping and eventually ended up coordinating the local beach leagues. She is one of the founding members of Heatwave Volleyball Club, and she oversees the club in the capacity of President.
Jennifer Strangeway - Extra Ordinary Member
Jen has a wealth of knowledge and experience in marketing and event management. She initially got involved with the federation by overseeing our social media feeds during our Norceca stop in 2016. She has been a welcomed addition to the board ever since, as she plays an integral role in organizing our tournaments and fundraising events.
